Zur-Neven-Burg in Hohenschwangau

Friendly welcome although it is not entirely clear where the entrance is. The castle cellar is the gastronomy. Unfortunately furnished very carelessly and not a little bit castle feeling. The food can be better too. Unfortunately, the steak only comes from the contact grill. We were the only guests on a Sunday evening. You cannot pay with an EC card or Visa either. A tablet-sized TV hangs in the room. The bathroom is extremely small and very old. There is only one shower curtain, then the bathroom is under water. Conclusion: You can do more with the location and the name. So we won't be back.

Years ago in hotel Zur Fredenburg, wanted to see how it was with other owners, but unfortunately no one present. Bad Fredenburg is also a nice place

Dirty and shabby. The staff without or with a half-seated mask and that even at the breakfast buffet. Which left a lot to be desired. Coffee from a small household machine that was constantly empty. The price is unbeatable for bed and breakfast, but now we also know why.

Something went wrong with our booking but the host reacted very nicely and even upgraded us. A nice inn with a very nice owner and good breakfast!

Here we slept for one night. The room was simple but clean. The breakfast was perfectly fine. All in all, not a 5 star hotel, but totally fine for the price.

The criticisms of the other contributions are largely correct: the hotel is quite old and therefore the bathrooms and the balcony in particular are in need of renovation. We didn't find the beds really uncomfortable. Maybe we would like new towels and white bedclothes. However, the old "country house style" also goes well with the beautiful area and the old castle ruins (built around 1325). The view and the surrounding forest are really beautiful and invite you to go hiking and cycling. The location of the hotel is quite remote up on the mountain, but important points of contact in the village are within walking distance. In general, we liked the hospitality of all "Sauerlanders" but also of the hoteliers. Special food requests were implemented without any problems.
